Dr. Peiyi Tang
Professor of computer science and high-performance computing

Dr. Peiyi Tang earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1989, a master’s degree in Computer Science from East China Normal University in 1982, and a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Fudan University in 1970.
From 1983 to 1989, he worked at the Center for Supercomputing Research and Development at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he focused on compiler algorithms for dynamic scheduling in large multiprocessor systems, including the Cedar system. He later held faculty positions at the Australian National University and the University of Southern Queensland before joining the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2001.
Dr. Tang’s research centers on parallel processing and high-performance computing. His work has included parallelizing compilers, parallel programming languages, distributed coordination and programming, data mining, and applications of parallel computing such as parallel data mining and mathematical software.
