Advisory Board Member
Steve Landers
Founder and former CEO of Landers Auto Group

Steve Landers is a businessman and philanthropist who founded one of Arkansas’s largest automotive dealership groups. Over the course of his career, he built a strong presence in the automotive industry through leadership, expansion, and dealership development across the state.
In 1998, Roger Penske invited Mr. Landers to join United Auto Group as President of the South-Central U.S. region. In that role, he oversaw operations and acquisitions across multiple states and managed Chrysler dealerships throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. After stepping down from that position in 2003, he returned to dealership ownership and continued expanding his business interests.
In 2005, Landers Auto Group partnered with Thomas F. McLarty to form the Landers-McLarty group, which further expanded its dealership network. Throughout his career, Mr. Landers has bought and sold more than 70 auto dealerships in Arkansas. His company was also recognized by Chrysler Corporation as the number-one Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealer in the United States in 1993, 1995, and 1996.
In addition to his work in the automotive industry, Mr. Landers has been involved in philanthropy and public service. He also has interests in the horse-racing community and was appointed to the Arkansas Racing Commission in 2016.
