Center for Molecular Design and Development
We are a university research center providing the scientific community and corporate partners with state-of-the-art molecular modeling capabilities. CMDD leverages some of the world’s most powerful computational facilities and molecular modeling software to address complex scientific and biomedical challenges.
Our Focus
Bioinformatics is rapidly becoming one of the most powerful tools for exploring biological and biomedical systems. At CMDD:
- Students pursue Master’s and PhD degrees in bioinformatics
- Research focuses on pressing biomedical, scientific, and engineering problems
- Graduate students in chemistry, physics, and engineering play a central role
Our Mission
Our mission is to use advanced modeling and bioinformatic techniques to develop predictive tools for designing new molecular systems with desired properties.
A primary focus of CMDD is researching diseases that are often overlooked by traditional medical research laboratories. We refer to these as “homeless diseases”—conditions without a dedicated research home.
A second core mission is education. CMDD serves as a platform for enhanced learning at both the undergraduate and advanced degree levels.
Our Needs & Support
The Center for Molecular Design and Development is a self-funded research center supported through grants and private donations.
- Graduate student support (stipend, tuition, fees): $26,000
- Post-doctoral fellow (including overhead): $50,000
- High-performance workstation: $20,000
All contributions are tax deductible and directly support research, education, and innovation. Thank you for supporting CMDD.
